What is an Affiliate?

An affiliate is someone who promotes a product or service to potential customers, in exchange for a commission on the sale when one occurs.

For example, let’s say Alan is an avid gardener. He buys a great ebook through ClickBank about growing bigger roses, and wants to recommend it to others. He signs up for a free account with ClickBank, then finds the ebook about roses in the ClickBank Marketplace and creates a customized link called a HopLink.
